New carbon-capturing “battery” technology aims to clean the air

Unless you’ve been living under a rock with no access to any TV or internet (which may actually be a good thing), then you’re aware of the current heated debate on climate change and carbon dioxide pollution caused by human activity.

While I support using tech to improve our every day life and comfort, I do subscribe to the idea of limiting our damage to the environment through responsible use of resources. Unfortunately, we can’t realistically stop increasing our carbon footprint, at least not in a realistic immediate timescale: we still have to drive to work, fly between distant places, or switch that light on at night, charge our phones using electricity that’s produced mainly from fossil fuels (in the USA). So, we need to look into ways to actively take emissions out of the air, not just limit the output.
